I thought I'd start early. :3

Post by Zodiack »

As I've got no clue how I'm going to get to LL8 as of yet, I thought I'd make myself a thread where I can keep track of traveling arrangements, what.

Looking at muh calendar, I have spotted that my dad is working. Can't remember whether it's days or nights, but he's working which =/= lift from dad.
Mum = does not like driving far = uhrm, maybe not.
I've yet to ask her, so I'll likely get that done soonish.

BUT.
If need be.
I'm a Thamesmead person, and that's where I'll be, unless mum drops me off somewhere with my stuff.
And thinking of my mum's car, it's probably gonna be just big enough. Teehee. :D

But yeh, that was kind of a ramble to say that:
1. I dunno how I'm getting there.
2. If I needs a lift, I shall love someone forever if they'll take me as

3. I. Can't. Drive. because
4. I don't trust myself while there's other people on the road. ;-;

Much luff. <3

How luggable is your kit? Quite often we do shuttle runs to and from the train station at Chatham to the event, depending on who is available, you call one of the mobiles of the organisers (available closer to the date) and whoever is free comes and gets you. It's been done a few time for a couple of people, and you nenver know someone may be able to swing by and give you a lift if they happen to be passing.

My tower isn't that heavy, but my monitor is...
It's like, OMFG I CAN'T GET IT UP THE STAIRS.

But I did.
After like, an hour.
XDDDD

So, tower = luggable.
Monitor = ... Erm.....
Whatever else = I'll chuck it in a bag and it shall deal with it.

Ask KF nicely, we may be able to lend you a monitor, even if it isn't a particularly brilliant one.

Forgive my appalling geography, but are you in Thamesmead near Plumstead? According to the nationalrail site, a train from Plumstead takes just under an hour to reach Chatham directly, without you having to lug your kit onto another train. If no one can get you from Thamesmead directly, get yourself on that train and give one of us a bell when you reach Chatham. As CD said, runs to and from Chatham station are common enough. :)

@KF - that would do spiffily and I would love you forevar!

It appears as though I will be getting the train.
I'm sure Mum'll drop me at the station tho. xD

Mum had a dilemma for a minute tho.

Me: Can me and my stuff have a lift to the LAN?
Mum: Uh, no.
Me: That means I have to take my kit on the train, then.
Mum: People get mugged for their phones, so why wouldn't they mug you with your computer?!
Me: But you won't give me a lift!
Mum: Yeah, and?!

One bonus a PC has over a phone is that phones can be whipped out of your hand and the mugger can scarper easily.

PCs are a bit more cumbersome. :)

In fact I think I'll carry mine around with me, connect using a 3G card or something, and email people instead of texting from now on.
