Members of the LlamaLAN Community,
We are at a critcal juncture for the next event, LlamaLAN 26, but also for LlamaLAN as a whole.
For the first time in the twenty five events that we've run, we have reached a cut off date with insufficient number signed up and paid up to cover the basic costs of the hall.
As you all know, we run the events on a not-for-profit basis, but equally and more importantly we run them on a not-for-loss basis. This is why we have always operated the way we have, with a cut-off date, and discounted tickets for the early adopters to cover the hall costs.
The discount, and hence the cut-off date ended on the 3rd July, at that point we had fourteen fully paid up attendees, this left us fully ten Llamas, and effectively £200, short of being able to confirm the event.
It would be a real shame if this event signalled the demise of the LlamaLAN events, and so we beseech the community to look into their hearts, remember the fun times that we've had in the past and look forward to the fun times we can continue to have if the events continue.
It is with this in mind that we will postpone the cut-off date for another pay day to give those Llamas that were sitting on the fence about attending this event the chance to commit, and importantly drag an extra body along. If everyone who has already signed up can persuade one more person to attend we'll easily clear the twenty four required attendees.
The community buzz at the last event was incredible and showed how passionately people feel about the events. Many feel the blood of the Llamas running through their veins and the call to arms must surely be heeded.
The new cut-off date will now fall on Wednesday the 3rd August, the remaining ten discounted tickets will still be available until that time or until they are sold. Regrettably if we haven't reached the minimum required signups by that point then cancellation is inevitable.
Regards
'der Management
